How to read these metrics
- • Duplicate reduction — identical detections across satellites collapsed to one event.
- • Episode clustering — many raw pixels become a few coherent fire episodes.
- • Alert reduction — only episodes that pass an area’s F-GRADE threshold and are spatially exposed become alerts.
- • False-positive suppression — fixed industrial hotspots and likely agricultural burning are down-weighted, not alerted.
- • Explainability — 100% of alerts ship a human-readable explanation with drivers, uncertainty and recommended actions.
